There has been much talk about the coronavirus virus the past few days. Lewiston Consolidated
Schools is continuing to monitor the situation closely and remains in contact with the Southeast
Department of Health and the Nebraska Department of Education to ensure we are following
CDC guidelines.
We will continue to disinfect hard surfaces, doorknobs, and light switches and to train
our students on how to protect themselves with simple hand hygiene. In addition, we are
meeting with other school districts and the Nebraska Department of Education to receive the
most up to date information. Any new information we learn that is relevant to our district will be
shared with you immediately.
Please remind your children to:
• Practice good hand-washing with soap for at least 20 seconds.
• Keep hands away from nose, mouth, and eyes.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Stay home when you are sick.

any updates relevant to southeast Nebraska. Residents are encouraged to visit the department's
